Solar panels
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which powers your systems and devices. If the generated electricity is not sufficient, for example at night, the required additional electricity is automatically drawn from the regular main grid. If there is a surplus of generated electricity, it is fed back into the main grid.

Prices
The prices of these packages are based on installation on a sloping roof with roof tiles.
Additional costs for flat surfaces
Solar panels installed on flat roofs, carports, and pergolas are €18 including VAT per panel more expensive due to additional materials and transportation costs.
In all municipalities, an additional certificate is required to obtain building permits when solar panels are installed on a flat surface, such as on the ground, a flat roof, a pergola, or a carport. This certificate, known as the “certificado de solidez” (certificate of structural integrity), must be prepared by a certified engineer and costs 350 euros, including VAT.
Production values
The production of these packages is based on a southern orientation and a slope of 25 degrees.
Fixed prices
The prices in our quotations always include all necessary materials, services, paperwork, and building permits, and they never change. No fine print, no post-calculation charges, no unexpected costs for additional work after installation, and no surprise extra costs for administrative tasks.
Standardly included in the above prices:
Registration through the grid caretake
It is essential to follow the legalization process established by the network operator (I-DE). This process ensures the official authorization and recognition of feeding surplus electricity back into the grid, allowing you to receive compensation for your surplus electricity.

Building Permit
For the installation of a solar panel system, a building permit must be applied for, paid for, and approved by the municipality. Installing solar panels without the required building permit may result in municipal fines, mandatory removal of the system, and complications when selling your property or applying for a rental license. We only carry out solar panel installations with a valid building permit approved by the municipality. We make no exceptions to this policy unless you choose not to have us arrange the building permit. In such cases, you will be required to sign a legally binding declaration confirming that we have informed you about the mandatory building permit, the significant risks of installation without a permit, and that we cannot be held liable for municipal fines, substantial additional costs, the possible mandatory removal of the installation, or costs arising during the sale of your property due to the lack of the permit.
Additional (administrative) costs in some municipalities
In some municipalities, including Altea, Alfaz/Albir, Benitatchell, Jalon, Javea, and Denia, relatively extensive additional paperwork is required to obtain building permits. This includes a “certificado de solidez” (certificate of structural integrity), an “estudio de seguridad y salud” (safety and health study), an “estudio de residuos” (waste study), a “proyecto descriptivo” (project plan), and “tasas del colegio oficial de ingenieros” (fees from the official college of engineers). All these documents and certificates must be prepared by a certified engineer. The cost for this is €835 including VAT.
When additional paperwork is required in your municipality to obtain a building permit, these administrative tasks are always included in your quotaton.
Referral bonus
Bring us in contact with new customers, such as friends, family, or neighbors, and receive an attractive referral bonus of €250! Visit our store together with the referred person and make sure to indicate who made the referral before placing the order (this cannot be indicated retroactively). Once the installation is ordered, you will receive €250 in cash or €350 off your next purchase!
Compensation for surplus electricity
When you generate more electricity than you need, the surplus is fed back into the main grid. Your electricity supplier compensates you for this surplus electricity. These compensations are settled monthly with the remaining amount you still need to pay, for example, for electricity consumed during the night. Some suppliers also offset these compensations against the fixed connection fees.
Electricity suppliers: Tailored Advice
Finding the right contract can be challenging for many, especially due to language barriers, the large number of providers, complex electricity bills, and frequently changing rates. We closely monitor the main Spanish electricity suppliers and offer tailored advice after installation. This is often beneficial, as many providers have attractive offers for people with solar panels.
If you reside permanently in Spain, we generally recommend a contract with the lowest electricity rates and the highest rates for surplus solar electricity. When you do not stay in Spain year-round, we usually recommend a contract with a virtual battery.
We also always recommend a supplier that offsets the compensation for surplus electricity with both the consumed electricity and the fixed connection costs.
Discount on property tax (IBI)
In most municipalities, homeowners have the opportunity to benefit from a reduction in property tax (IBI). You do not need to be a resident of Spain to be eligible for this discount. Because municipalities are allowed to determine and adjust the duration and amount of the discount themselves, we cannot list the exact discount amount per municipality on our website. However, the discount is substantial. For example, in most municipalities, it amounts to 25 to 50% per year over a period of 3 to 5 years. We provide all the necessary documentation to obtain the discount, including:
- Licencia de obras
- Informe favorable
- Carta de pago de las tasas
- Certificado de instalación eléctrica en baja tension
- Memoria técnica
- Certificados de garantía
- Certificados de conformidad de la UE
- Fichas técnicas
We send these documents after the installation in a clear email with an explanation of the content of each document, making the process of applying for the IBI discount at your local SUMA office simple and quick.
Components in a solar panel system:
Solar panels
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity through photovoltaic cells. When selecting our panels, we focus on technology, efficiency, reliability, design, and warranty. Our panels are carefully chosen based on over 30 years of experience on the Costa Blanca, data from more than 2,000 solar panel systems installed by us in this region, test results from independent laboratories, and our own tests conducted at our facilities in Calpe under realistic conditions, including the impact of Sahara sand, high summer temperatures, and varying maintenance scenarios.
Depending on the available space, we use Hi-MO X6 and X6 Max panels from Longi, the world’s largest manufacturer of solar panels. Longi is renowned for its reliability, quality, and long warranties, as well as being a leader in technological innovation. The Longi X6 435W panel (22.3% efficiency – 113 x 173 cm) and the X6 Max 505W panel (22.4% efficiency – 113 x 199 cm) deliver high performance combined with a sleek, fully black design that ensures a modern and stylish appearance.
These panels, with HPBC technology, perform very well in the summer at hot summer temperatures thanks to their optimized energy conversion efficiency and low temperature coefficient, meaning they experience minimal yield loss as the temperature increases. Additionally, the Hi-MO X6 and X6 Max panels both offer a 25-year power and product warranty.
Inverter
An inverter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC) used in homes. Additionally, the inverter can feed surplus electricity, not immediately consumed in the household, back into the power grid.
We primarily work with string inverters, optionally in combination with optimizers. With a string inverter, a single central inverter is installed, typically in a technical room, garage, or outdoors. Our range includes premium hybrid string inverters that can be expanded with additional solar panels, battery storage, smart charging stations, backup solutions, and smart grid functionalities. For over five years, we have been using Huawei inverters due to their reliability, compact size, quiet operation, user-friendly app, excellent value for money, and long warranty.
Optimizers (optional in most situations)
Optimizers (Huawei Smart Module Controllers) work in conjunction with the inverter to optimize the performance of individual solar panels, ensuring maximum efficiency of the solar panel system. Thanks to the optimizer, the system can generate more electricity, even if some panels temporarily perform less efficiently due to shading effects. An additional advantage of an optimizer is that you can monitor the individual performance of each panel via the solar panel system’s app.
Optimizers are not always necessary and will only be offered by us when required for the proper functioning of the solar panel system or if you wish to monitor the individual performance of each panel.
An optimizer costs €65, including VAT and installation.
Battery Storage (Optional)
Battery storage (Huawei Smart Storage) provides the capability to store electricity generated during the day in batteries for use during periods of low or no sunlight, or when your home temporarily requires more electricity during the day than the solar panels are producing at that time.
- Starting at 7 kWh
- Modular expandable in increments of 5 kWh
- With 7 kWh of storage, the battery can deliver 3.5 kW
- With 14 kWh of storage, the battery can deliver 7 kW
- With 21 kWh of storage, the battery can deliver 10.5 kW
- 15 year warranty
Prices including installation and VAT:
- Base module + 1 x 7 kWh module: €5,300 (€760 per kWh)
- Base module + 2 x 7 kWh modules: €9,000 (€640 per kWh)

Back-up (optional)
The Huawei Smart Guard is an advanced backup solution for homes, designed to ensure a continuous electricity supply during power outages. The Smart Guard automatically switches from grid power to battery electricity within 20 milliseconds after a power outage. This ensures that household appliances continue to operate without noticeable interruption.
Prices including installation and VAT:
Single-phase: €2,320
Three-phase: Expected in the first quarter of 2025
The Huawei Smart Guard is compatible with virtually all Huawei inverters installed by us and can always be added to existing systems later.
Mounting systems
Sloping roofs
For the installation of solar panels on pitched roofs with roof tiles, we use a mounting system specifically designed for the distinctive Spanish roofs and tiles.
Flat roofs
For flat roofs and gardens, we use prefab concrete foundations of high-quality concrete.
Depending on the situation, we opt for rows of panels with sufficient spacing to prevent shading or a “sail system.” In this system, the panels are placed directly behind each other, slightly elevated, ensuring they don’t cast shadows on one another and eliminating the need for spacing between panels.
Pergolas and carports
For pergolas and carports, we use aluminum structures.
Note: To obtain a building permit for solar panels on a carport, nearly all municipalities require a minimum distance of 5 meters between the panels and the property boundary. Additionally, we can only apply for the permit if the carport is registered in the land registry, which we can verify for you.
Walls
Solar panels can also be installed on walls using aluminum structures.
